Flroida Crown Region - 2012 Board of Director Results
To the Members of the Florida Crown Region and the Board of Directors:
I wish to report to all that as Chairperson of the 2012 Nominating Committee Election Board I have received to date four (4) members who have notified me of there wish to run for the four elected officers of the Board of Directors, Florida Crown Region, Porsche Club of America.
Rusty Russ for President
Chris Hoyt for Vice-President
Chuck Morrison for Secretary
Ed Lustgarten for Treasurer
I have also received each person's biography and the office to which they want to hold per Article VI, Section 4 of the Florida Crown Region Bylaws.
The date of October 15 has come and gone and these are the only members who have contacted me for office.
I propose that the slate of candidates have been finalized ahead of the due date of November 1st.
Since we have one person per position, I do not see a need for a general election for the 2012 officers and that these candidates be received as our officers for 2012.

Brumos Offers Loaner Cars to Local FCR/PCA Members
In an effort to stimulate more of a bond between the Florida Crown Region (FCR) and their dealership, Brumos Porsche is now offering ALL FCR-PCA members a "Loaner Car" when you make a reservation for service on your Porsche. Previously, this offer was only available to members that had purchased their Porsche from Brumos.
They have now extended the offer to ALL FCR members in good standing that also may have not purchased their Porsche at Brumos. To qualify for a "Loaner Car", you must present your current PCA membership card to the Service Manager when your maintenance service appoinment is made.
This is another benefit that Brumos is offering to create a better relationship with the FCR membership. Please take advantage of this new offer from Brumos.

Their website is somewhat difficult to navigate, so I suggest visiting their showroom that is open M-F, 9 to 5 to choose the items that you would like. Prices are wide-ranging, but I feel my Port Authority pique knit polo is a good value, with a choice of a dozen colors, for approx $22 plus tax and shipping. You can pay more or less and it's up to you. They have very nice jackets, t-shirts, twill shirts long and short-sleeve, duffle bags, mugs, mouse pads, and on and on. They cannot apply our logo to hats as the logo is too large - a disappointment for sure.
The shop is on the north side of westbound lanes of Beach Blvd., west of Parental Home Rd., Fontana Restaurant, Hart Xwy overpass, on your right, be prepared to turn! It is a cream stucco one-story building.
Ask for Karri, Pattie, or Sky and tell them you want the new Porsche Club logo on your order. We buy all the DE and Club Race shirts from them and have for years so we are a good customer and they should be helpful to you.
The order may take some time - several of us waited about a month but we were the intial order, so maybe it won't be that long now.

The price is $9 or $9.50 each plus tax plus shipping if you wish - I think they charge a dollar to mail them - and they take credit cards. It's usually a pretty quick turnaround.

Not so many years ago, spotting another Porsche on the road was a welcome event. Without ever meeting the driver, you could rest assured that you had encountered a kindred spirit; someone who shared your appreciation of one of the best engineered performance cars in the world - a PORSCHE. As a sign of acknowledgment, the drivers would flash their headlights. Though some still practice this tradition, many old owners have gotten lazy and many new owners have never learned this important tradition. Owning a Porsche is a unique experience.
