Porsche Jacksonville Concours and Swap Meet 2024

Mother Nature Must Love a Concours

By Chris Hoyt, FCR Concours Chair

After several weeks of bad weather, Mother Nature shone brightly on the Florida Crown Region (FCR) for their annual fall concours at PORSCHE Jacksonville on the city’s southside. Our area had been plagued by hurricane rain without the hurricane (thankfully), so we were on pins and needles leading up to the event, but it all worked out for the nearly 40 concours entrants and swappers. Fifteen swappers set up their wares and by all accounts some serious business was conducted.

Based on suggestions from the membership, this year’s event was separated by model, and there were additional judging teams to ensure results were quickly rendered, delivered and announced. Major kudos go out to all of the fine folks at PORSCHE Jacksonville for hosting the event and picking up the costs of the trophies and DJ. A hearty FCR thanks to: Aaron Mong, General Manager; Austin Mills, Parts Manager and Jamie Ossi, Assistant Parts Manager; and Tierney Anderson, Marketing Specialist. And last but not least, we can’t forget about our judges, who volunteered their time on such a beautiful Saturday. Special thanks go to: Don Leatherwood, Bruce DuFresne, Dr. John Trainer, Bill Bianco, Hilton Early, Ken Perry, Dennis Fallen, and Chris Pownall. These folks made sure that judging was completed quickly, which enabled us to announce the results well before the noon hour.
