2012 PORSCHE 997.2 Carrera Coupe “Black Edition”

PORSCHE’s venerable 911 model has continued to last the test of time ever since its introduction in the mid-sixties as a replacement for the then still popular but aging 4-cilynder 356. Among the model’s many iterations is this 2012 997.2 Carrera Black Edition, which is #1,652 of 1,911 Black Editions that were to be built for the 2012 model year. Although numbers vary, somewhere around 1,800 were actually built, including a “China Edition.” The glove box of all Black Editions featured an imbedded plaque stating the car’s number in the production run.

As the name implies, this 997.2 Carrera’s exterior is black (paint code 041), features a full black leather interior, and a black Alcantara headliner. Only two shades of black were offered: this color and Basalt Black Metallic. It’s generally accepted that this was PORSCHE’s fancy way to say triple black.
