Porsche has always been the sports car that does it all. Not fragile like the Italian cars. Over course, the sound from a flat 6 or flat 12 is hard to beat too.

In Massachusetts we had a 1987 911 which we sold before moving to Florida in preparation for a convertible. The local dealership could not help us so we scoured the country for the car we wanted. We found the GTS in Cincinnati and flew up to take delivery. Broke the car in per directions at the recommended RPMs whilst driving through horse country and the mountains with stops at The Biltmore and Savannah. The Boxster was a compromise car between my husband and myself. I wanted a Maserati however when the top was open there was no room in the trunk! Due to the Boxster being a mid-engine car we not only have a trunk but a frunk as well. Going away with luggage is a breeze.

I (and my partner of 53 years) are Porsche died in the wool enthusiasts. We got engaged in 1968 in my first Porsche, a 1967 912/5 Coupe. Had that one for 22 years and sadly let it get away. Porsche is the consumate “real world” performance car that excites and also pleases in so many other ways.

6-speed manual, naturally aspirated engine, dual-row original ISBM, legacy 911 cable throttle, cabriolet. Porsche defines sports car.

I started out with my first ‘air-cooled’ German car with a purchased new 1970 VW Bug when I was in High School. I drove the car for over 30 years building 3 engines, 2 trannies and more brake jobs than I car to mention. Gave it to my son in 2001 and he’s turned it into a VW Outlaw with lowered suspension, flared fenders, disc brakes and Porsche Fuchs ‘Polished Lip’ wheels. Now he takes his 5 year old for rides just like how I started him out. Now I have the chance to own and drive my Porsche 911 which started out as Posters on my wall as a teenager.

Dollar for the dollar, you can’t beat a Porsche for performance or fun. I purchased my 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo from Porsche Jacksonville. It’s my fourth 911 Turbo and easily the quickest and most refined. All-wheel drive makes it a very sound road car and I plan to enjoy it on a daily basis rain or shine…maybe I’ll even take it on the track. Porsche is the master when it comes to turbocharging and their expertise is fully on display in this car.

I love the original Cayman 987.1 lines! Mid engine handling is superb! Porsche…No Substitute! Always wanted a Porsche since I was a young lad.

You will have to ask him next time you see him!

“Having grown up riding in the back seat of my Dad’s VW, and helping him work on it, I became quite familiar with that dependable little car.  As a young engineer, I was quite impressed with the pinnacle of German automotive engineering, the 911.   When the opportunity to purchase my own presented itself to me five years ago, I went for it. The previous owner of this ’82 911SC just happened to be an old UF professor of mine.  I spent the next year or so getting the car road worthy again and now enjoy driving on weekends, taking it to shows and events. Most recently, at last year’s Porsche Parade Concours, I placed 1st in the Preservation Class.”

I wanted a Porsche since I was about 14 years old. It all started when I watched races with my father and noticed Porsche was a very reliable, great looking car that rarely broke down; resulting in many wins particularly, in endurance races.

We bought our first 911’s in 1998, a white one for me and a guards red for my wife. We are now on Porsche number 7.

We both love Porsche because they build timeless, well engineered cars that are meant to be driven. They are a special automobile that have a soul to them. No other car has given us that same feeling. They are special machines, owned by passionate people.

We became PCA members in 1998 and made many friends over the years with the Gold Coast, Suncoast, the new Gulfstream regions and are now enjoying meeting the fine folks with Florida Crown. We look forward to more FC events.

I could never find enough words to describe why I love my Porsche! To put it simply, no other car has made me want to take the long way whenever I drive home. The way the Cayman rotates through a turn and the flat-6 noises coming from behind are just some of many things that make this car such a joy to drive!

As a kid I liked many kinds of sports cars but over time I grew to love Porsche the most. Porsche knows how to make sports cars that truly feel connected to the driver. I never understood this feeling until I drove one myself. I can’t think of another brand that can build a performance car with sportiness, reliability, and daily drivability the way Porsche does. This well-roundedness is what sold me on Porsche above all other brands.

I have always been impressed with Porsche’s racing history and my partner had a 1982 911 SC that was great to drive. When I turned 50 my wife said I should get one. It took me a month to find a 1992 911 (Ollie) in Kansas City. When she had 140,000 miles on it my wife said I might want to get another one. One month later I had my 2004 911 C4S (Gracie). She now has 195,000 miles and the engine hasn’t been opened. The mileage is a testament to the fact that she has been and continues to be fun to drive.

The two questions that always get asked about owning a Porsche:
How do you justify them?
Once you drive one and buy it, the next question is what took so long?

The 997 is a special car. All the stars were aligned at Porsche to bring the collective wisdom of building 911s into this one perfect high performance street car.

I fell in love with Porsche 911’s when I was 7 years old. Always been my dream car and several years ago I finally found myself in a position to get one. With the urging of my wife (yes, you read that right), the dream came true. I acquired my 2014 991.1 with all the options I wanted: Agate gray (shout out to the first 911’s), PDK, Sport Chrono, glass sunroof, 20” S wheels painted to body color and beige interior. I recently added a Soul Performance Exhaust and WOW! As for why I chose Porsche, easy….there is no substitute.

I have always appreciated performance vehicles and before retiring I had the opportunity to work with most of the global OEMs as a supplier (including Porsche). Like most Porsche owners, I have always been attracted by the engineering, design, fit/finish, and above all performance. Even though I will never come close to using all of the performance capabilities of my car, it still drives like nothing else under all conditions. It must be contagious since I have four neighbors within close proximity that have 911’s.

I’ve always wanted a Porsche, but I was so busy with work I had no time to enjoy it. I waited till I was semi retired and could get out on the open road and really explore and enjoy an amazing quality vehicle like no other. Plus the camaraderie of our community is unlike any other.

Nothing like an air cooled vintage flat 6 at speed ( or a flat 4 which can rev to 7000rpm)!

I love Porsche because they are strong and reliable and beautiful and absolute blast to drive! In six-plus years I’ve only needed oil, gas, and a single fuel injector. It doesn’t matter if it’s driving around town, along the coast headed to the Falcon’s Nest, or or on a race track — the driving experience is unmatched. I’ve never had a vehicle provide that much fun. And there’s really no need for me to look any farther.

I’m like the little boy on the Commerical, saw a 911 at age 6 or 7 (1971 or so) and was bowled over by, wanted one ever since.
Got my first 911 (2001 996) in 2005, crashed in within the first 5 months. Got another one a couple of months later (996, 2002). Had that one 5 years and drove more than 100k miles. Sold it for a 2009 911, which I only kept for one year. My previous Porsches had been silver, this one was black and I just didn’t love it. Traded it in for the 2007 997S that I currently own. That was 7 years ago. Love my car, which now has over 115k miles on it and have no intention on ever selling it. 6 years ago I took my car to Sebring and I have been passionate about it ever since. Seeing that my 997 is my daily driver I needed a track car, hence the Cayman. Love the car and how it handles on the track, very agile. It has been modified and is really a weekend toy.
